LifeAgain: Bringing Sparks to the Lives of Young Girls
Being a teenage mother has never been the dream of any girl. The frustrations and pains they go through can affect and shatter their beautiful dreams. It takes courage and will-power to get back on track again with their lives with most of them sinking and succumbing to societal pressures.
That is why LifeAgain, on the 4th of July, 2020, supported five teenage mothers at Charia, in the Upper West region with items and enrolled them in a three-year program in various fields. Two of the beneficiaries chose to be trained in sewing, while the other three opted for training in weaving. A mentor was assigned to each girl to guide them into becoming responsible adults. Mrs. Saudatu Danladi, the founder and director of LiveAgain, urged them to make the most out of this opportunity by concentrating on what they had chosen to do and desist from anything that would likely jeopardize their future again. The girls could not hide their excitement as they showed their gratitude to the organization.
LifeAgain is a Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to give hope, purpose and empowerment to vulnerable teenage mothers in Northern Ghana. With a vision of creating a world in which teenage pregnancy is no hindrance to a girl’s empowerment, the organization identifies teenage mothers from remote communities and provides them with mentorship, sex education and financial support to either return to school to attain higher education or learn a vocation. Their ultimate goal is to have teenage mothers acquire skills from which they can build careers from and become financially independent women. The organization is based in the Upper West Region, Wa.
